Newsflash

The band have started working on the next album. The first session stating in January 2010.

It was a long morning before actually getting down to the recording. But it was worth the wait for the results.

Will keep you posted.

‘Electric Chicago Blues with a modern sound for the 21st century.’ That was how Jeff Radford, a local music reviewer described the band.

Bad News

Deciding not to be soloist with band full of session musicians, Mark Gamblin has built a stable inclusive five peace band. The Mark Gamblin Band play Blues. Leaning heavily on Chicago Blues for the core of their sound, whilst the lead guitar creates a more modern blues sound.

Mark Gamblin started playing in Portsmouth under his own name in 2002 as single soloist. After creating a name in the Portsmouth music venues, a bass player was added to the gigs, soon after, two more musicians joined. In 2004, the band had changed into The Mark Gamblin Band, playing their first gig in Guildhall Walk Portsmouth 2004.

By 2005 the band had headlined the ‘University of Portsmouth Music Festival’ and had started recording their debut Blues and Blues/Rock album ‘Morning Rain.’ Songs from ‘Morning Rain’ was aired on Future Radio, Blues Radio UK and Blues Helsinki Radio. The Blues Matters! Magazine (winners of the international The Blues Foundation KBA Award) on reviewing the album stated that the band is ‘hugely entertaining in performance and Mark Gamblin displaying a high degree of skill on the guitar.'

Morning Rain

The bands first album "Morning Rain". A collection of traditional blues style with a mix of a modern touch.
Mark insisted that he wanted to get a near as possible live sound to the recording, so you will not find any overdubbing or electronic fixes to the sound or recording. It's a take it like it is.

At the Studio

It was a 1 o'clock kick off at the recording studio for The Mark Gamblin Band at a secret underground recording studio in Hampshire

The three of the original band members Lloyd, Mark & Rick (left to right) all set for another days recording
Tricky Ricky (Rick Arrow) could not make it for this particular session as he was away doing some exams. "I know what your thinking at his age too" (Ed) However we should have him back in for the next sessions after his trip around Europe.
